Scratch
Correction Example
Okay,
here's an old negative that saw hell. Left in an office drawer among the
paper clips and push pins, bashed around, dirty, scratched and gouged.
So, I washed it with diluted dish detergent, and scanned it and here's
the result without and then with infrared based scratched cleaning (ICE)
on the Minolta 5400. So,
let's scan it normally... oh my, that is one badly scratched negative!
Now
point at it with the mouse to see how infrared processing can help... |

Yep.
Believe it. Okay, there is a bit of dirt left over, but that is now easily
fixed in an image editing program ... if one had to fix all that manually,
it would take hours and the results would probably look terrible.
